Mounira Al Solh's installation Hop to Hope opens at WAMx

Mounira Al Solh’s video diptych and installation Hop to Hope consists of two films. The films were shot in August 2021, during an escalating economic and political crisis that resulted in shortages of gas, fuel, electricity, water and wheat in Lebanon.

Mox Mäkelä – Strange

The experimental film Strange by Mox Mäkelä is a part of the idiot ibidem series, which was originally started by Mäkelä in 1995. In the series Mäkelä has traced the connections between her own Karelian ancestor and Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Idiot.

Artworks from the Artists of the Parrantie Ateliers WAM's cafe

A new exhibition opens in June in WAM’s cafe. In the exhibition Home of a Hundred Artists, there are works of eleven artists who have worked in the Parrantie atelier houses in Turku. The atelier houses have served as homes and workspaces for local artists for more than 50 years. However, this summer the houses will be demolished.
